Office 2010 Public Beta next month

Microsoft announced a test version of its Office 2010 suite will be available to all users in November 2009.

Monday at the SharePoint Conference 2009 taking place this week in Las Vegas in the United States, the CEO of Microsoft announced the availability for the month of November a public beta of Office 2010. For then, this office suite is available for testing as a technology preview with a small panel of users, as recently declination online Office Web Apps.

Office 2010 is available in its final version in spring 2010. Microsoft will then open a new way of selling with marketing a card activation to activate this image in a new computer. And a free version with limited functionality, Office 2010 Starter, where ads appear, replace and Works may be pre-installed on certain new machines.


SharePoint Server 2010 also in beta
But forces SharePoint conference, Steve Ballmer has also indicated the availability of beta version of its platform for collaboration and SharePoint Server 2010 Web. As for Office 2010, the public beta version of SharePoint will be available in November. "When combined with Microsoft Office 2010, SharePoint 2010 will transform the efficiency by connecting employees across a single platform for collaboration," said Steve Ballmer.

Among the new features of SharePoint 2010 put forward: Ribbon interface, improved integration of Office, the integrated management of multimedia (video, audio, Silverlight) for dynamic websites, new features of Web content management, integration with Microsoft Visual Studio 2010, connectivity services tailored to businesses, rich API and support for Silverlight, REST and LINQ, Services and Excel Services InfoPath forms for use throughout the company, two new references for SharePoint sites open Internet with an offer on site and a choice of accommodation.
