Sony Ericsson W350i Now in India

Sony Ericsson W350i, one of the newest Walkman handsets, was officially released today in India, the world's second largest mobile market.

Coming in a stylish semi-flip case, the W350i is a device that combines the ease of use with a set of nice features. The new Sony Ericsson offers, first of all, music-oriented features. These include: dedicated keys (on the external flip cover), Walkman Player 2.0 (with the Walkman on Top feature that enables easy one-key access to your music collection), Mega Bass equalizer, TrackID, access to PlayNow, FM radio with RDS and Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP.

The W350i also brings tri-band GSM connectivity with GPRS and EDGE, a 1.9 inch TFT display with 262K colors and a 176 x 220 pixel resolution, NetFront browser, push email, Instant Messaging, 3D gaming capabilities, a 1.3 Megapixel camera, USB 2.0, handsfree, voice memo, organizer, 14MB of expandable memory and a battery that should last up to 7 hours in talk-time mode or up to 300 hours in stand-by mode.

At 80 grams and only 104 x 43 x 10.5 millimeters, Sony Ericsson is surely among the lightest and thinnest music phones on the market.

The new W350i can be bought from all the Sony Ericsson Experience stores across India as well as from various other mobile stores. The Walkman phone is available in three color versions: Graphic White, Ice Blue and Electric Black. The first two versions both have a retail price of RS 7,295 (170 USD or 110 Euros), while the Electric Black version is a bit cheaper, retailing at RS 6,995

BenQ E55 3G Mobile Phone will release

BenQ will release their new 3G handset in the Taiwanese market later this month. Known as the BenQ E55, the phone offers 3G data connection and comes jam packed with a 2MP camera, the secondary video call camera at the middle of the clamshell hinge, a 1-inch 64k colors CSTN external screen with 96 x 64 resolution, and the internal 2-inch TFT screen that supports 262k colors. This clamshell phone is actually the successor of the previous BenQ E53 phone. Its media player sports AAC, MP3, 3GP and MP4 file formats. The BenQ E55 3G phone is priced at around $230.

The handset's 45 MB internal memory that can be expanded with a microSD card cannot be used only for storing MP3 tracks, images and videos, but stuff recorded from the FM radio is also stored here. One of the downsides of the handset is the 900 mAh battery, which provides only 2.4 hours of talk time, but it's standby time is not better either, only 180 hours. Still, for a price of $230 USD, BenQ E55 is not a bad buy. Or at least it wouldn't be, as the manufacturer's models are still not available in Europe.

Microsoft is launching Sidewinder X6 keyboard

Microsoft is set to extend its range of Sidwinder gaming peripherals with the addition of a new gaming keyboard called the Sidwinder X6 and if nothing else, it has a rather unique design in as much as it has a detachable numeric keypad that can be attached to either side of the keyboard.

We're not sure how useful this is, but it might come in handy for some and the same goes for the "cruise control" feature which allows you to repeat keystrokes without holding a specific key down. It also appears to have some programmable keys on the left hand side.

What appears to be a range of multimedia keys can be found at the top of the keyboard, although we're not sure what the two round things are meant to be for. The keyboard should be using a USB port to connect to your PC and it's expected to retail for US$79.95 (€50/£40) when its launching sometime in September.
