8 new Athlon II 2, 3 and 4 core AMD

As expected, AMD joins his way to the arrival of Windows 7 by launching eight new processors of the Athlon family. With prices of wholesale (price per unit for purchase of a thousand pieces) between 69 and 143 dollars, they will allow the company to Sunnyvale to muscle its supply relative to that of Intel, as well the general public that the OEM market.

Among the eight new chips, there are different models 'e', displaying a TDP (Thermal Design Power) of 45W, compared to 95W of Athlon II "standards". Reduced energy consumption welcome lovers living room PC or manufacturers wishing to offer machines little greedy, but not without impact on the final price.


Earlier this range, we therefore find the Athlon X2 II II 235th and Athlon X2 240th, with 2MB of L2 cache and a TDP of 45W, clocked at 2.7 GHz and 2.8, respectively sold 69 and 77 dollars apiece, for a thousand units. Next come two to three core processors, the Athlon X3 II II 400 and Athlon X3 405th at 2.2 and 2.3 GHz, also with a TDP of 45W for the price of 97 and 102 dollars. Two standard X3 addition to offering the 425 and 435, with frequencies up sharply, to 2.7 and 2.9 GHz for the price of 76 and 87 dollars. Finally, AMD Athlon X4 II 600th and 605th, four cores, 2MB L2 cache and TDP of 45W for the price of 133 and 143 dollars.
