Apple 3G iPhone Gets Dipped in 24 Karat Gold

They've made gold MacBook Pros, and gold iMacs, and now Computer Choppers have turned their attention to blinging the iPhone 3G.

Apparently it's taken a while to plate on the gold because of "poor quality plastic Apple used for the iPhone 3G" (tut tut) but now the company is claiming to have delivered the first "iPhone 3G with 24K yellow gold housing and bezel".

Computer Choppers was even blunt enough to say how the materials this time around on the iPhone 3G were less than stellar and made it tougher for them to plate the “poor” quality plastic Apple used. Testing is still being done for those who want engravings and other customizations before it is plated, as well as how reception will hold up with the coat of gold on it. No pricing is available and as with everything they sell you will have to e-mail them to find it out the cost. So stay tuned to Computer-Choppers if this is what you would have in mind for your little iPhone 3G.
