Like the man he replaces, the new processor is clocked at 3.20 GHz with 8 MB of cache. It adopts a socket LGA 1366 and a fine engraving of 45 nm for a TDP of 130 W. It is losing its multiplier unlocked upwards and the link to QPI 6.4GT / s reserved for Extreme Edition, to be content with a link to 4.8 GT / s.

The Intel Core i7 960 is already in the catalog of Intel $ 562 in quantities of thousands. It appears as the same wholesale price as the Core i7 950, clocked him on at 3.06 GHz and sold approximately 500 euros, it seems to have to foreclose.
