The announcement that came via Twitter is an unpleasant surprise for bada WQVGA phones owners who are likely to turn to other mobile solutions such Android, iOS or even Windows Phone 7.
“The bada 1.2 upgrade is not applied to WQVGA devices(Wave 525). Thx.”
While the short tweet does not specify the reasons behind Samsung's decision, it will be interesting to see if bada 2.0 will be deployed to all compatible smartphones or those with WQVGA device will be left out again.
Samsung's bada lineup of devices that support WQVGA resolution include Wave 525, 533, 575, 578 and 723.
Unfortunately, that is a pretty long lineup of phones that won't be upgraded with the latest software available at any moment.
On related news, Samsung delivered bada 1.2 software upgrade for S8500 devices in India, but has yet to release a changelog for the update.
