Twitter buys web analytics service Trendly

Twitter has just announced it bought Smallthought Systems, a company that publishes the service is Trendly web analytics service that will be integrated with the platform to increase services offered to businesses.

Twitter wants to improve its monitoring and statistical users through this acquisition. The four founders of Smallthough Systems will be integrated into the Twitter team and will focus on integrating their service Web analytics tools in the administration platform.

The functionality of Trendly should also be offered to companies using Twitter to measure the effectiveness of their communication and their campaigns within the micro-blogging service.
