Nintendo drag gamers with its 3DS

In his lecture yesterday at E3, Nintendo unveiled its 3DS, 3D terrain version of its handheld console expected in 2011.

The main feature of the 3DS is obviously its ability to display 3D terrain without the user needing to wear glasses. The top screen displays the console format 16 / 9 against a 4 / 3 for the lower screen. In all, three cameras will be integrated into the console: one inside and two outside, which will be capable of capturing images in 3D. A joystick takes place above the directional pad until now only offered on previous versions of the handheld console from Nintendo, and a gyro sensor is also needed.

If no release date has yet been revealed - even if Nintendo wishes to exit the console by the end of fiscal year 2010 - the list of games that will be available out of the 3DS is already known.

A list that, if she does not forget the classics of the brand - Paper Mario, Star Fox 64 3D, Nintendogs or Kid Icarus: Uprising - also leaves the pride to third party publishers for titles surprising and sometimes unexpected one Nintendo handheld. Thus, Capcom will offer a 3D version of Super Street Fight IV and Resident Evil Revelation. In Konami's Hideo Kojima's Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D announced a first for the franchise, which had until then limited to the PSP for its adaptations phones.

With 3DS, Nintendo is therefore seeking to attract players from all sides and is not limited to casual gaming: by focusing on franchises with strong potential, the Japanese could rally to his cause was curious 3D reliefs, and more experienced players used to other consoles.
