Adobe Flash Player available in final version 1.10

Ambitious rewriting of a technology is implemented, according to Adobe, 95% of Internet connected PCs worldwide, with 10.1 Component Flash Player is now available for download in its final version for Windows, Mac OS and Linux. The program for this new version, which mainly support hardware acceleration of H.264 encoded videos using the graphics card, even if it is currently restricted to Windows. Adobe also reports having made the correction of vulnerability recently discovered in its software.

With Flash Player 10.1, the publisher also promises a more intelligent management of system resources, with a higher memory usage lowered, the ability to automatically release the latter in case of saturation and modulation finer level priorities processor so that the user does not see the browser or system by flash frozen as we have sometimes deplored the previous versions.

Flash Player 10.1 is also accompanied by new programming interfaces (APIs) devoted to ActionScript 3 which should facilitate the development of interfaces leveraging multipoint touch screens, a point that Adobe had been criticized by Steve Jobs in his letter open about Flash. The software is finally respectful of different navigation modes that offer private modern browsers. For now, the support Webm , the new video container supported by Google and Mozilla, do not seem to part, despite support Adobe had posted the project.

The release of Flash 10.1 is accompanied by the launch of version 2.0 of the Adobe Integrated Runtime (AIR), which allows applications to run Flash / Flex outside the browser.
