Toshiba has confirmed that he prepared several models of Slate tablets or iPad running Android and Windows 7.
According to Jeff Barney, head of digital products in the U.S., Android is the shelf closest to the iPad, with a 10 inch screen and a lower price for devices running Windows 7. These should cover a higher range, with features like dual display.
"We see a place for digital slate," with a real market, which should not cannibalize one of netbooks, according to Jeff Barney. From this side of the Atlantic, Toshiba has already launched the Journ Touch, internet tablet with a wrapper for the moment on the operating system Windows CE 6. This version does not support third party applications that are standard on all projects Android, Windows 7 and iPhone OS to date.
No date has been officially announced - and no money for that matter - but various reports suggest that Toshiba's launch around the end of 2010 or early 2011.
