Adobe announces Flash and AIR for Android

While the Bell kick the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Adobe has confirmed the imminent arrival of Flash 10.1 on Android. In the aftermath, the publisher revealed that the AIR runtime environment will also be focused on the mobile platform from Google. The arrival of the Adobe Integrated Runtime (AIR) would allow developers to develop applications or mobile content using the latest advances in Flash while enjoying the full capabilities of the system and allowed interactions with embedded components. Adobe promises and it will be possible to exploit multi-touch screens, GPS or accelerometers within an AIR application.

"Flash Player 10.1 authorizes an uncompromising navigation within applications, expressive content and HD movies not only smartphones, but also on new tablets, netbooks, SmartBooks, desktops and other devices of consumer electronics. Android, Blackberry, Symbian, webOS Palm and Windows Mobile are among the mobile platforms that will support the full version of Flash Player, "said a representative from Adobe on the official blog of the firm, which suggests that information the presence of Flash in the next version of Windows Mobile will soon be data.

At the same time, the publisher announced its membership in the LiMo Foundation, an initiative involving several players and mobile industry to develop a foundation dedicated to the open design of terminals based on Linux software, again with the promise of a port Rapid Flash technology.
