Online Security: Facebook Application expert advice

Facebook announced this weekend the formation of an advisory board consisting safe for now five organizations based in North America and Europe: Common Sense Media, ConnectSafely, WiredSafety, Childnet International and The Family Online Safety Institute. The social network will meet regularly with members of the council to evaluate existing resources for online safety and to propose new users.

The primary mission of Facebook Safety Advisory Board will oversee the overhaul of the security content proposed in the Help Center. This will make the proposed information easier to understand and to pay special attention to pedagogy towards parents, teachers and adolescents. Remember that children under 13 are not allowed to use Facebook.

Recently, Facebook and MySpace have been cited as examples by the Attorney General of the State of New York. Through their collaboration, thousands of accounts opened by convicted sex offenders in New York were closed.
