The SDHC / SDXC pass to the Ultra High Speed

The SD Association, an organization responsible for developing standards for memory cards, Secure Digital, has unveiled new rules designed to clearly indicate that transfer speeds can reach the new SDHC memory cards and SDXC.

Faster

In addition to the now classic Class 2, Class 4, Class 6 and Class 10, and a new standard is emerging: the UHS-I (Ultra-High-Speed). SDHC cards or SDXC UHS-I may thus - theoretically - reaching speeds of around 104 MB / s (four times the maximum discharge current), while remaining of course retro-compatible with the interfaces and peripherals conventional, more "slow". It will be noted in passing that another standard, the UHS-II, is also in the files of the SD Association. This will achieve even greater speeds (up to 300 MB / s).

Finally, another certification appeared, the UHS Speed Class 1. It refers to memory cards or SDHC SDXC UHS-I able to record HD video in real time. In short, if the specifications of these new standards are now published, it only remains for manufacturers to launch their products certified ...
