Microsoft's new action against spam

Microsoft continues its efforts in the fight against spam and announced that it filed a complaint against several individuals using Hotmail accounts to send bulk spam.

In a note published on an official Microsoft blogs, John Scarrow, Head of Safety Services, explains: "In our complaint we explain that the defense has opened millions of Hotmail accounts and hired people to manually identify spam from legitimate mail as ". This method will then translate into biased results in the spam filter for Microsoft SmartScreen.

Microsoft said that its anti-spam technology, that is also found within Microsoft Outlook and Exchange, continues to block this type of spam. This is not the first ticket of its kind published by Microsoft. Tim Cranton, consultant to the company, explained in the month of July 2009 have launched actions against Funmobile MobileFunster and for sending massive spam by messenger. In February Microsoft announced that it had participated in the closed network of zombie PCs Waledac after several months of investigation.
