HTC buys the publisher Abaxia

In an official statement, the Taiwanese manufacturer HTC announced the acquisition of French company Abaxia. The latter specializes in developing software for mobile operators and market it to other manufacturers.

HTC therefore wishes to strengthen its software strategy to really trace the development on the performance of its smarpthones. It remains to projects that will result from this alliance. Peter Chou, HTC's CEO stated: "Adding Abaxia strengthens and expands our development capabilities and allows us to innovate faster."

Abaxia notably developed Mobile Portal, a mobile Internet portal as a white label on which operators can label their brands. Note also Mobile Finder, a universal search engine to return data from the phone (contacts, SMS, bookmarks, notes ...) or make a request on the Internet. Abaxia also has a programming interface allowing operators to return the content directly on the home screen phones.

Remember that Motorola has also recently invested in software development by acquiring the publisher Azingo. The latter develops an operating system for mobile devices with a tactile keyboard. The OS is Linux based and has a development kit to allow developers to create their own applications.
