A trojan pretends to be a beta of Office 2010

In an alert dated yesterday, BitDefender warns users against a trojan that pretends to access the beta of Office 2010.

This is provided in an email, entitled "See Office 2010 Beta in Action" and the seductive layout. "Generously evaluated by nick testers 5 stars (5 course), it is too tempting not to be tested." Says the editor of Romania. The email comes with an attachment that promises quick access to the beta in question. This is obviously a fake.

The trojan is identified by BitDefender as the Trojan.Downloader.Delf.RUJ, and creates a hole in Windows that causes the installation of adware. "Once installed, the trojan creates a copy of itself and modifies the registry so that each copy is executed at Windows startup. It then attempts to connect to a specific IP address to download various malicious files. Trojan.Downloader.Delf.RUJ also presents a very serious threat to personal data and banking. "Says the editor.
