Google Announces Chrome Web Store

At the conference Google I / O, Sundar Pichai, Google Chrome Product Manager, announces the launch of Chrome Web Store, a directory intended to facilitate the discovery of new Internet services. Chrome Web Store will appear as a new page in the default browser Google Chrome. The Mountain View company should take the opportunity to promote some hosted services but also games.

Directly from this new gallery, it will be possible to preview an application but also to buy via the electronic payment system Google Checkout. Applications will be classified as categories (entertainment, communication, productivity ...). We also meet again the themes and extensions for Chrome.

"Vendors can promote their products to 70 million users," says Pichai adding that Chrome Web Store will be available on all versions of the browser (Windows, Mac OS X, Linux OS and Chrome).
