MySpace plans to update its privacy settings

Faced with the blunders of Facebook and its privacy settings extension , MySpace seems keen to capitalize on the bad news of his rival social network has announced yesterday that its own set-up options would soon be simplified.

"We want our users to know that we are preparing the launch of simplified privacy setting. Although we have had such plans in the works for some time, given the outcry about these issues in the media, we felt it was important to reveal these projects now, "Mike Jones told the co- Chairman of MySpace, on his blog.

The new settings will take a public profile at a private profile in a single click, and the default options will focus also display only with friends.

This announcement takes place while MySpace is undergoing restructuring, and seeks to revive its activity as a community oriented around music. The site was certainly not the same audience as Facebook, which is much more general, but focusing on the privacy settings more concrete and easier access might be to allow users to glean dissatisfied with his main rival .

Mike Jones has not given specific dates on the modified settings MySpace, but we bet that given the current turmoil around the protection of privacy online, it should not take too long.
