Apple attacks Nokia

Apple is accused of Nokia in the illegal use of 13 patents. Make smartphone iPhone appealed in federal court in the U.S. with the relevant claim to the Finnish company.

According to the American side, in the number of patents infringed by Nokia are technology of teleconferencing, interaction between a smartphone and a computer, working with color in applications, the implementation of energy-saving functions, etc.


Almost all the leading phone manufacturers have licensing agreements with Nokia, with the exception of Apple. According to the American company, the Finnish manufacturer has not agreed to license its technology on fair and reasonable terms. In addition, Apple accuses Nokia to increase royalty rates and considers illegal demands Finns the granting of licenses to certain patents of Apple as partial compensation.

Autumn Nokia sued Apple, accusing the latter in violation of at least ten fundamental patents. According to the Finnish manufacturer, improprieties in all generations of iPhone smartphones and related technologies of wireless data transmission, speech coding, security and encryption.

Apple has filed a retaliatory lawsuit in the same court of Delaware, in which claims will be dealt with Nokia. According to some analysts, the patent dispute between the companies may take several years.
