LG Electronics announced today having signed an agreement with Dolby Laboratories, Inc., the famous American company specialized in audio technologies, in order to create advanced multimedia phones.

Following the agreement, LG will integrate the Dolby Mobile technology into future select handsets. Especially optimized for mobile devices, Dolby Mobile is capable of providing a rich audio experience that can allow LG's handsets to stand out from any of the high-end music-oriented phones on the market.

Among the Dolby Mobile features that LG's upcoming handsets will come with, we can mention:
  • Mobile Surround, for a realistic sound when using headphones
  • Natural Bass, offering powerful bass and boost extension
  • Mono-to-Stereo Converter, for an improved playback experience of user-generated musical content
  • Sound Space Expander, for an ultimate soundstage experience
  • High Frequency Enhancer, a feature that auto-restores high-frequency effects
  • Graphic Equalizer
  • Sound Level Control, for an improved playback volume.

According to Skott Ahn, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile, the company believes that this technology will raise the bar for audio quality on multimedia phones and expect Dolby Mobile to help them create a new trend in the mobile phone industry. He further said that LG is committed to providing their customers with the best features available and their new collaboration with Dolby helps them deliver on this pledge.
