Microsoft: Office Web Apps available for all

While Microsoft will begin marketing its suite of new generation, I called Microsoft Office 2010, from June 15, the publisher has just put online the Office Web Apps. This is the online version of the software Microsoft Office suite, with applications like Word, Excel or PowerPoint can be used free by anyone. While the official announcement of the availability of Office Web Apps service overseas, it appears that French users have access to Office Web Apps.

A few weeks ago, we devoted an issue to the full Microsoft Office Web Apps, by presenting the features and limitations of this online version of Office suite. Access to Office Web Apps is free and runs around SkyDrive, the data storage service from Microsoft. The files are hosted on the "cloud" Microsoft, but it is possible to download to your computer.

Access to Office Web Apps is now by following this link . We also invite you to read our case for a fairly detailed overview of the opportunities offered by the competitor of Google Docs.

Update: if the French version of Office Web Apps is available, access appears to be limited to certain types of Hotmail account.
