Kevin Shortt, Ubisoft Montreal this week confirmed what many already suspected: the development of a third game for the hit series, Far Cry. Although not offer many details said that so far things look "very exciting."
Last year the narrative designer Patrick Redding said that the sequel is likely to remain in Africa, but apparently this concept has been discarded. Antarctica has also been mentioned as an option but nothing is certain yet. So far it appears that the game will be based on an enhanced version of the Dunia engine, an extensively modified version of CryEngine specifically created to manage complex real-world physical effects within a sandbox environment.
In short, no details were given about the environment, history, engine or platform but at least we know that Crytek's new game will be something really original. If you have not played the series, Steam is the first two titles selling less than 30USD - or you can get less than 20USD if you act quickly and make their Christmas promotions.
