Download Google Chrome 4.0 first beta version for Windows

A first beta version of Google Chrome in the 4.0 branch is available for download for Windows users.

After the series of test releases distributed via the channel for developers, Google Chrome 4.0 is proposed as a first beta. This means that the last trial was judged sufficiently stable to be tested by ordinary users, but curiosity whetted.

This beta version of Google Chrome 4.0 is intended for Windows users only. Trial versions of Google Chrome 4.0 do exist in Mac OS X and Linux, and if they are already well advanced they do not yet time for the beta status.

In addition to correcting a number of bugs this beta milling has several improvements in execution speed and to indicate Google:

"As web applications we use every day have become increasingly dynamic, browsers like Google Chrome should be able to build and change elements on web pages as quickly as possible. On testing Dromeao Mozilla DOM Core We have improved our performance scores of 30% since last stable version of Google Chrome, and 400% since our first stable release. "

This beta also represents an opportunity to activate the default functionality for synchronizing bookmarks that Google has in the video below. For this feature available in the wrench menu, the user must connect to the Google account so that all bookmarks are sent to this account. On another computer, you must request this feature, enter their usernames and decide whether or not the bookmarks should be merged. Google stresses that the changes are almost instantaneous (synchronization) through the same mail servers based on the XMPP protocol that is used by Google Talk.

A small disappointment for the first beta of Google Chrome 4.0, support for extensions is not activated by cons. Recall also that milling will integrate technology Native Client (no longer a plugin) which aims to allow execution of native x86 code (like C or C + +) in Web applications to make them faster.
