Asus ultra-portable for the U series details

Partially unveiled earlier this month, the new U series of Asus has now been presented in detail. These machines come with clean lines in this line of laptops ultra-fine, compromise between mini-laptops poussifs first price and ultra-portable high-end.

The range includes no fewer than six models adopting combinations of processors and graphics cards varied. All these models share certain features, however. They are entitled to use one display backlight LED topped with a webcam, DDR2 RAM expandable to 4 GB of hard disk 250, 320 or 500 GB, a DVD (except for the UX30) and Wireless connectivity Bluetooth 2.1 EDR and WiFi N. They finally have an HDMI output in addition to the conventional USB ports and are delivered with Windows Vista Home Premium.

The Asus U20A revolves around a 16:10 screen WXGA (1280 × 800 pixels) by 12.1 inches. Containing a low CPU Intel Core 2 Duo SU9400 1.4GHz and an Intel chipset GS45 supported by an integrated graphics chip Intel GMA 4500MHD, it measures 22 to 29.6 mm thick with a weight of 1, 78 kg. It will be marketed at the retail price of 880 euros.

The Asus U80V and U81A to have a share of a 16:9 screen WXGA (1366 × 768 pixels) by 14 inches. They abandoned the Culver processor to a Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 (2.53 GHz) or a P8600 (2.40 GHz), more efficient but also more energy. Moreover, while the first loads a comfortable dedicated graphics chip ATI Radeon HD 4570 backed by 512 MB of memory, the second has a graphics chip integrated Intel GMA 4500MHD. They both measure 22.5 to 31.6 mm to 2.15 kg, the Asus U80V being proposed price of 950 euros.

The Asus U50G stands out for its U80V of its 15.6-inch screen with a ratio and a definition identical, with a choice of slightly more powerful processor (P8700 and T9550 clocked at 2.66 GHz and 2.53 GHz ) and a dedicated graphics chip NVIDIA GeForce G 105M equipped with 512 MB of memory. Slightly thicker and heavier (21.6 to 33.6 mm to 2.56 kilograms), he will negotiate 1 100 euros.

The Asus UX50V and finally two are UX30 ultra-mobile processor for Intel Culver. They actually use the Intel Core 2 Duo SU9400 and SU9600 (1.40 GHz and 1.60 GHz) or Core 2 Solo SU3300 and SU3500 (1.20 GHz and 1.40 GHz). The UX50V is not in fact U50G by its processor and low consumption by its reduced thickness (18.6 to 28.6 mm) since it incorporates a 15.6 inch screen and a GeForce G 105M. We finally found UX30 on a screen of 13.3 inches and a graphics chip Intel GMA 4500MHD, with a thickness and a weight reduced by 23 mm for 1.6 kg.

Asus laptops to the U series will be available from July.
