TouchTunes Announces Nationwide Availability of Wireless Broadband Service

TouchTunes, the largest out-of-home interactive entertainment network, has announced the nationwide availability of its Wireless Broadband Solution. The solution provides all of the benefits of a wired broadband connection, at very competitive rates, without the time consuming, complex installation process of many broadband services. TouchTunes is making the service available following a comprehensive, four-month beta testing program. On average, TouchTunes broadband connected jukeboxes earn 25% more than dial up jukeboxes.

“We focused on offering a more flexible and cost-effective way for TouchTunes digital jukebox operators to use broadband to connect to the TouchTunes network, and now we have it,” said Dan McAllister, senior vice president sales, TouchTunes. “The TouchTunes Wireless Broadband Solution provides exactly the value and flexibility our operators told us they want. Broadband is important because we know that TouchTunes digital jukeboxes with high-speed connections offer a great entertainment experience and generate more revenue.”

The Wireless Broadband Solution from TouchTunes is available across the U.S. for $10.45 a week with a two-year contract. Not only does the solution generate more revenue, but it also provides an enhanced entertainment experience for users. Additional TouchTunes Wireless Broadband advantages include:
  • Easy installation with a USB wireless modem
  • Real-time access to hundreds of thousands of songs so patrons can always find the music they want
  • More capabilities for advertising and music promotions
  • myTouchTunes enabled – myTouchTunes lets patrons play and share their personal playlists and helps create a base of loyal, music-loving customers
  • TouchTunes PlayPorTT enabled - The PlayPorTT system provides multiple, portable, wireless touchscreens for music and game play
  • Credit card transaction enabled
  • Reduced service and maintenance costs with the Network Diagnostic System (NDS) - real-time email system alerts, remote tech support and enhanced diagnostics

Beginning in the second quarter, the TouchTunes Wireless Broadband high-speed connection may be shared with other manufacturers coin-op amusement equipment, provided the manufacturers comply with the wireless network provider’s guidelines and requirements.

With a network of more than 35,000 locations, TouchTunes has both the largest network of digital jukeboxes and the largest network of broadband-connected digital jukeboxes in North America.

“Our new Wireless Broadband Solution, with its great national coverage and low cost, will help us expand our broadband network even further and will help our operators grow their businesses,” said Steve Birrell, vice president sales, TouchTunes. “I’m excited to be able to offer this great solution as I take on my new role working with our entire operator community in addition to our large national accounts.”

TouchTunes is a leader in the interactive out-of-home (OOH) media market, providing music and games, as well as marketing capabilities, such as advertising and promotions. While TouchTunes has always offered operators both broadband and dialup options, wireless broadband will bring the benefits of high speed connectivity to those operators for whom it has not been a cost-effective option or has not been available.
