BenQ E55 3G Mobile Phone will release

BenQ will release their new 3G handset in the Taiwanese market later this month. Known as the BenQ E55, the phone offers 3G data connection and comes jam packed with a 2MP camera, the secondary video call camera at the middle of the clamshell hinge, a 1-inch 64k colors CSTN external screen with 96 x 64 resolution, and the internal 2-inch TFT screen that supports 262k colors. This clamshell phone is actually the successor of the previous BenQ E53 phone. Its media player sports AAC, MP3, 3GP and MP4 file formats. The BenQ E55 3G phone is priced at around $230.

The handset's 45 MB internal memory that can be expanded with a microSD card cannot be used only for storing MP3 tracks, images and videos, but stuff recorded from the FM radio is also stored here. One of the downsides of the handset is the 900 mAh battery, which provides only 2.4 hours of talk time, but it's standby time is not better either, only 180 hours. Still, for a price of $230 USD, BenQ E55 is not a bad buy. Or at least it wouldn't be, as the manufacturer's models are still not available in Europe.
