Acer introduced Affordable Netbooks

Acer has recently introduced its Aspire One range of Netbooks at affordable prices for the Indian consumer. Introduced as a Christmas special offer, the new range is aimed making Internet and basic computing accessible while on the move to the average Indian consumer at an affordable price.

The notebook running on the latest Intel Atom processor technology features 1 GB of RAM and a 160 GB hard drive. It is available with operating system options of Linpus Linux Lite or Windows XP Home. Weighing less than a kilogram, it features an 8.9 inch LCD screen with an ergonomically designed keyboard which is 89% of the full size and a battery life of up to 3 hours.

The notebook features the one Mail software suite that lets users manage up to six of email accounts, including their office accounts with a single application interface. Additionally it also includes Messenger for Instant Messaging, an application that will allow users to simultaneously access Skype, Microsoft Messenger and various other instant messaging services. The software can be used with the integrated video camera for instant video-chats and video conferences.

Available in the Sapphire Blue, Brown, Black, Pink or White color options the basic notebook is priced at Rs 7,499 while the one with a fully loaded Windows XP Home Edition is priced at under Rs 20, 000.
