Opera Software has distributed an updated security for its browser to version 10.54. Five holes have been filled for users of Windows and Mac OS X. Opera has not wanted to detail them. The company said that two of these faults were considered "extremely severe". One of them concerns only Windows users and recalls a security update released by Microsoft earlier this month. A hacker could now deploy an attack through the font manager for Windows used by the browser.
For users of Mac OS X, version 10.54 Opera fixes several other dysfunctions are:
- Installing a new version of software cleaner.
- The right-click gesture coupled with a mouse (eg to return to the previous page) activated a popup menu.
- Scrolling a page on a MacBook was three faster than normal!
- Problem with automatic filling and selection at the input method.
- Support for links to third party applications.
- No mouse clicks in a menu.
- Bad display of notifications.
- Sudden closures of the application.
