AT&T Mobile TV Service Debuts in Albany

We interrupt your scheduled programming with an important news bulletin: AT&T Inc. today announced the availability of AT&T Mobile TV in Albany, an award-winning service that gives customers access to live news, sports, entertainment and kids' television programming on their mobile phones. The company also announced a one-month free trial for new subscribers.

"We're committed to giving our customers access to applications and services that turn their mobile phones into the tools they want them to be -- in this case, 'live and in color' pocket TVs," said Mark Collins, vice president of Voice and Data Services for AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets.

AT&T Mobile TV, a service by MediaFLO USA, a Qualcomm company, delivers continuous streaming, full-length live TV programming and sporting events(1) to mobile phones from leading sources: CBS Mobile, CNBC, Comedy Central, ESPN Mobile TV, FOX News, FOX Mobile, NBC 2Go, MSNBC, MTV, Nickelodeon, CNN Mobile and PIX.

The service is available on four handsets exclusive to AT&T: Samsung Access, Samsung Eternity, LG Invision and LG Vu. In addition to enjoying a smooth, crystal-clear picture at the touch of a button, AT&T customers can easily and quickly flip from one channel to the next using an intuitive program guide.

New subscribers can go to an AT&T store or visit http://www.att.com/mobiletv to sign up for a free one-month free trial(2). The offer is available through the end of the year.

In response to AT&T research revealing that news and movies are the two most popular program categories consumers want to watch on their mobile phones, the service includes two channels exclusive to AT&T:

* CNN Mobile Live provides users with access to 24 hours of breaking news with live streaming anchored coverage from CNN.com Live as well as CNN's most popular programs, including "American Morning," "Lou Dobbs Tonight," "CNN Election Center," "Larry King Live," "Anderson Cooper 360" and "CNN International."

* PIX, from Sony Pictures Television, offers a variety of contemporary films, including comedies, cult classics, action films and family favorites from the studio's vast library.

"With this service, our customers don't have to miss a minute of their favorite programming," said Bob Holliday, vice president and general manager of AT&T's wireless operations in upstate New York. "AT&T customers want to be constantly connected, whether they're at home, at work or on the road. Mobile TV gives them an exceptional way of viewing TV content as they never have before."

Monthly access packages for AT&T Mobile TV begin at $15 per month for the basic package, which includes unlimited access to Mobile TV. AT&T also offers a Mobile TV plus package for $30 per month, which includes unlimited Mobile TV, unlimited mobile Web browsing on MEdia Net(TM) and unlimited CV mobile video. Programming is delivered to mobile phones over MediaFLO USA's own dedicated multicast network, meaning AT&T customers do not incur additional data or voice charges.

In addition to new availability in Albany, AT&T Mobile TV is also available in roughly 60 markets including Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, San Diego, Seattle and Washington, D.C. In upstate/western New York, Mobile TV is also available in Poughkeepsie, Rochester and Syracuse.

The service is part of AT&T's robust portfolio of wireless video offerings, including CV mobile video, which gives subscribers mobile access to thousands of on-demand video clips -- including news, sports, entertainment, music and movie previews.

As with CV, AT&T Mobile TV has a parental controls feature, which provides content filtering and purchase blocking so customers can restrict access to content that may be inappropriate for younger viewers.
