Casio's new slim EXILIM Zoom EX-Z150 compact digital camera features a wide-angle 28 mm equivalent 4X optical zoom lens, 8.1 Megapixel CCD image sensor, 3-inch LCD display, CCD-shift anti-shake function, Face detection technology, and up to 1600 ISO. Casio boasts that the EXILIM EX-Z150 is the slimmest camera in the world with such features, at just 20.1 mm thick, and 18.9 mm at the thinnest section. The EX-Z150 also captures video at 30fps - 640 x 480 resolution and includes a YouTube Capture mode for easy uploading and sharing.

The Casio Exilim Zoom EX-Z150 will be available in September for $199.99 in red, silver, black, pink and green colors.

LG launched LG SH400 with Audience Technology

The American company based in Mountain View, California, and specialized in advanced noise suppression, has recently announced its debut on the South Korean market by embedding its technology in the new LG SH400 mobile phone. Released by SK Telecom (SKT), the largest operator in South Korea, the new LG handset leverages on the Audience Voice Processor in order to offer users a clear audio experience in any environment.

Called Audience A1010, the voice processor included in the LG SH400 uses the most advanced noise suppression technology on the market in order to eliminate the background noise that usually appears (from various causes) when phone calls are made.

Talking about the Audience technology, Byungrok Jung, SKT Manager of Mobile Device Team, said: "We are thrilled to be working with such an innovative company as Audience. Audience has the most impressive advanced noise suppression solution in the market, and we believe that our customers will have a much better communications experience in noisy places."

Peter Santos, Chief Executive Officer of Audience, added: "We are pleased to have an opportunity to provide mobile handsets installed with our leading-edge noise suppression technology to SK Telecom, Korea’s largest mobile operator, through LG Electronics. With Audience, Korean mobile users can benefit from experience with much improved communications quality."

Weighing 104 grams and measuring 103 x 52 x 14.95 millimeters (when closed), LG SH400 is a nice slider that packs the following features: a 2.2 inch display with 320 x 240 pixels, HSDPA connectivity, Music player, mobile TV capabilities, a 2 Megapixel camera with video recording, multitasking abilities, 45MB of built-in memory and microSD card support.

LG SH400 is priced at only 93,000 Korean won ($92 or 58 Euros) with a contract agreement from SK Telecom and it's highly probable that it will never get to be released in other countries except South Korea.

Nokia Instant Messaging

Owners of Nokia phones will probably be happy to find out that the Finnish giant has developed its own Instant Messaging application, named simply Nokia Chat and aimed at offering a PC-like instant messaging experience on lots of its handsets.

Currently in beta version, Nokia Chat is not just "another IM client" – or at least that's what Nokia says. Besides allowing you to easily chat with your friends from your mobile phone, the new application also comes with Nokia Maps integration. This enables you to see your friends' location as well as share and update your own location status.

Just like any PC-based IM client, Nokia Chat lets you add and manage lists of friends, update/change your status, put a cool image as your avatar and so on. Furthermore, you can even add friends who don't use Nokia Chat but have accounts on Google Talk and other XMPP/Jabber-based chat services.

The new software was tested on the following Nokia handsets: N95, N95 8GB, N82, N81, N81 8GB, E51, E66, E71, 6110 Navigator, 6290 and 6120 Classic – hence users should have no problem in running the application on these devices. Nokia E90 Communicator, 5700 XpressMusic, 6121 Classic and 6124 Classic are other four handsets that are very likely to be good friends with the new Nokia Chat. Most probably, after going out of Beta, Nokia Chat will be pre-installed on all of the company's new handsets.

In order to make use of Nokia Chat, you need to have a wireless data plan from your mobile operator plus a Nokia account.
