Nokia 8800 Pink Diamonds

In a piece of news that can easily fall into the "how to waste a lot of money" category, we now present you the latest luxury edition of Nokia 8800 Arte, dubbed "Nokia 8800 Arte Pink", which comes after less than two weeks since another luxurious Nokia 8800 was unveiled.

Created by Peter Aloisson, the famous Austrian jeweler, the new Nokia 8800 Arte Pink is dressed in 18k white gold, plus more than 680 white and pink diamonds of the "best quality". These "tiny" details set the price of the phone no higher than 85,000 Euros – the equivalent of about $131,650.

If stripped of diamonds and gold, the new handset is actually not at all new, being the same 8800 Arte that was released by Nokia at the end of 2007. This means that the pink diamond-studded 8800 has the following features: a 2 inch scratch-resistant display with 16 million colors and 240 x 320 pixels, a 3.15 Megapixel camera with auto focus and video, Music player, Web and email capabilities, 3G connectivity (only UMTS 2100), Bluetooth 2.0, handsfree, microUSB, T9 predictive text input, voice memo and 1GB of non-expandable memory.

Samsung U900 Soul in a pink version

Samsung's phones and female users have always had a special relationship, and I say this because the South Korean handset manufacturer is known for coming up with girls-only versions for lots of its mobile devices. Now Samsung has done it again by presenting the U900 Soul slider in a pink edition.

The Samsung U900 Soul Pink is a luxury dual-screen slider phone with both a normal keypad and a touch screen navigation pad. The Samsung U900 Soul Pink has a 5 megapixel camera with 4x digital zoom, auto focus and flash. This pretty pink phone has a 2.2 inch TFT screen displaying 16 million colours in superb quality. The Samsung U900 Soul Pink has a digital MP3 music player and a stereo FM radio which can be enjoyed using Bluetooth connectivity. This pretty pink phone is a 3G Tri band phone with HSDPA(3.5G) connectivity. It comes with 128 Mbytes memory plus MicroSD Memory Card option.

Samsung Duos D780 in a Gold edition for Beijing Olympic

The Russian division of Samsung announced today the release of a Samsung Duos D780 in a Gold edition, which will be the official phone of Russia's Olympic team for the Beijing Olympic Games held in August. The handset will be commercialized as a limited edition, starting the 8th of August – the date when the 2008 Olympic Games debut.

Besides being plated with gold, the luxurious D780 also has the official logo of the Olympic Games engraved in its back case. These aspects aside, the golden D780 is the same device as the one Samsung released in Russia back in May.

The retail price of the Olympic Samsung D780 was not announced yet, but it will surely be higher than the one of the original handset, which is around 300 Euros ($465).

Sony Ericsson F305

The Sony Ericsson F305 is Sony Ericsson’s first Motion Gaming-enabled phone. Or well, no, that’s actually not true, but it’s the first to go by that name in particular. It’s a quad-band GSM phone with support for EDGE network speeds.

F305 features loud stereo speakers on the back of it, making your gaming experience even better. If you feel like challenging a friend of yours in a match, you can do this via Bluetooth on some games.

F305 has got a decent music player capable of playing the most standard audio compression codecs, including the über-compressed eAAC+ codec. The phone memory is a bit limited though at only 10 megabytes, so you’ll have to expand the memory with a Memory Stick Micro card. Your music can then be transfered via a USB connection. You can stream your music wireless in stereo, as the phone features the Bluetooth A2DP profile. You can also have a listen to the radio with the built-in FM radio, and recognize the music playing with TrackID.

The display on the front of this Polar White or Mystic Black phone is a 2-inch large TFT display with a resolution of 176 x 220 pixels, and up to 262.144 colours. While the resolution isn’t exactly excellent, it’ll make the rendering of 3D games quicker, and more games are available for phones of this screen resolution.

The F305 measures a good 96 x 47 x 14.6 millimetres, and weighs in at just 97.5 grams, making it a bit heavier than it actually looks. F305 will be out in selected markets in Q3 this year. We expect the price tag to be relatively low, considering this is a low/mid-end phone.
